In 1999, the founder of the company was roller blading down a dark side street with his 13 year old son.  He cautioned his son not to cross the street until he caught up with him. Being 13 years old and independent, he crossed anyway and a almost got hit by a car that did not see him.  It was at that moment, the idea to produce a line of safety lights to make the world a safer place was born.
